Review | Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Tapaze Extase

I think everyone has a favourite staple lip colour. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved old hollywood glamour and all its trappings so it's probably quite unsurprising that red is my favourite. I haven't actually taken count of how many I've collected over the years, though I would hazard that it's probably more than sensible. However... this rarely stops me thinking maybe 'that red would be nice to try...', so when I was given the chance to try one of the reds from Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge range I pounced on the opportunity.

Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge range is a line of creamy, replenishing lipsticks which come in a variety of lovely colours. The colour I chose is called Tapaze Extase, which is a lovely tomato red and is slightly glittery (as are all of the lipsticks in this range). It goes on beautifully smoothly and wears well with little feathering, even in such a bright red as this. I typically stick to matte lipsticks, partially because I often find shimmery ones drying, however this wasn't the case with this lipstick. My lips didn't feel dried out at all during the day whilst I was wearing the lipstick nor the next day.

I'm not sure how to describe the scent, other than it's a classic Lancome scent. It reminds me of lipsticks my mum and grandmum had when I was little, I've always found it pleasant and not just because of the nostalgia factor! And, on a quick note about the packaging, I've always adored the the simple black and gold of Lancome's cosmetics packaging. Plus, these lipsticks click shut with magnetised closure -- meaning they won't accidentally pop open in your handbag!
